Our Story

 

 

Our COMFORT INN & SUITES in Lynchburg, Virginia opened in September, 2015.  Prior to opening, we were looking for ways to set our hotel apart from our competition and decided to position our hotel as “A New Level of Comfort” in Lynchburg.

As one of the few hotels in Lynchburg that is 100% locally owned and operated we began focusing on cleanliness and customer service and after our first year we were honored to secure the ranking as the #1 Hotel in Lynchburg Ranking in the City of Lynchburg.

What sets us apart from the competition is our incredible staff.  From warm greetings at the Front Desk to daily interactions with our guests from members of every department, including: Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Breakfast.   We encourage every team member to treat guests like family.

An ideal example is Fran Hubbard, who works in Laundry.  Typically the person working in Laundry does not get to spend much time interacting with guests.  However, each morning, Ms. Fran greets guests with a wonderful welcome and wave when she enters the building.  Our guests love Ms. Fran!

Another great example is Connie Arthurs, who is our Weekend Breakfast Ambassador.   We can always count on Connie to give a cheerful greeting to our guests.  She takes time to speak to every guest taking time to find out what brings them to Lynchburg and where they are from.  In runs in the family, her daughter Tabitha, works at the Front Desk and has a box of greeting cards for every occasion, including: Birthdays, Weddings, Sympathy, and Get Well.  We share these cards with our guests and fellow team members. 

In order provide a “New Level of Comfort” to our guests we developed a program called COMFORT CARES.   We explain to our team members that “Comfort Is Caring” and that COMFORT is more than just a sign on our hotel, it is all about the CARE that we provide that we provide on the “inside” to our guests and fellow team members. 

We also look beyond our front doors into our community.  Some examples of our recent outreach efforts include: Cookies For A Cause to support the Salvation Army, Liberty Godparent Home and Miller Home for Girls.  Providing gently used bed sheets to the Warm Streets and the Lynchburg Humane Society.  We have also hosted activities for “Earth Day” and sponsoring a team for the “Relay For Life” to support the American Cancer Society.

Our owners, Dave & Susan Francis, have been working in the hotel business in Lynchburg for over 40 years.  They have put together a great team that has a combined 276 years of experience in the hospitality industry.  With the support of Choice Hotels we are able to offer a “New Level of Comfort” to our guests and show how much we care.
